by Tessa Dare

Rating:
4/5

This was the first Tessa Dare book I’ve read and it is such a wonderful book. What I loved so much about it is how human the characters are. Not just because of their insecurities, their foibles, or their deep need to be loved, but because of their incredibly awkward moments that we all know every human has. I have read so many historical romances where the characters are so stiff that I cannot get past imagining them with their noses stuck in the air and the most cliche of “dignified” British accents. That is not the case here. These two were so natural feeling, so real, they truly came to life.
