The Best Kindle Unlimited Options Right Now

Are there any good books on Kindle Unlimited? Well, that depends who you ask. I admit that in my experience, Kindle Unlimited has been mostly a miss. I doesn’t carry a lot of mainstream authors and most of the books I’ve read off there have been low quality. But buried beneath them are some good finds.

I’ve gone thought the authors on Kindle Unlimited and pulled together this list of the most promising books available on there. I’ve read some of these authors myself and others I haven’t, but they’re all authors who I have heard great things about.

Books ok Kindle Unlimited change all the time. So I will try to keep this list updated when I can.

Jane Austen

Who doesn’t love Jane Austen? Many of her novels are available on KU.

Elizabeth Gaskell

Another classic you can’t go wrong with. This is one of my all time favorite novels. It’s amazing. If you haven’t read it, you simply must.


Any of the KU Books by Kerrigan Byrne

If you’ve read Kerrigan Byrne’s Victorian Rebels series, you know what a brilliant author she is. I haven’t had a chance to get around to these yet, but she has several series available on KU that would be worth checking out.

Any of the KU Books by Paula Quinn

Laird of the Mist by Paula Quinn is one of my favorite reads. I’ve no doubt her KU books should be read.

Midnight Angel

By Lisa Kleypas

Lisa Kleypas has been a bit of a mixed bag for me, but she’s beloved by the romance community. So, check this one out.

Silk Is For Seduction

By Loretta Chase

I’ve only read Lord of Scoundrels by her, which I didn’t love. I believe it was mostly due to the characters just not being for me. But her writing style is great and she’s got some steam. I’m definitely planning to give this book a try.

Any of the KU Books by Jess Michaels

I’ve read a couple of Jess Michaels books. You can read my review of Everything Forbidden here. They’re super steamy and fun. Usually some decent feels. These are definitely worth diving into with your KU subscription.

Johanna Lindsey Titles on KU

Now, I haven’t loved the books I’ve read by Johanna Lindsey, but I know she’s hugely popular. She has a few books on KU right now.

Miracle on Ladies’ Mile

by Joanna Shupe

It’s a Christmas novel, but I’m including it anyway because her book, A Daring Arrangement, is one of My Top 10 favorites!

Danelle Harmon

I read her novel, The Wild One, and though it wasn’t exactly my favorite book ever, it was so well written and I loved the characters, that I definitely want to try her again. She has a couple on KU.


Flowers from the Storm

By Laura Kinsale

I’m currently listening to this on audiobook and it’s excellent. But she has other books available on KU too.

Bertrice Small

I haven’t read her, but I’ve heard great things. Can’t wait to try her out!

Kathleen E. Woodiwiss

A beloved romance author, she has several available on KU.

Connie Brockway

I don’t know how long Connie Brockway has been around or how prolific she is in the romance world, but people mention her to me a lot. So, I definitely think she’s worth a read.

Jo Goodman

Another author I see recommended fairly often. Give her a try and let me know what you thought.

Jo Beverly

She’s another author on my TBR list that I’ve heard great things about. Check her out.

Shirlee Busbee

She has a couple books available right now.
